Grout is injected into a steel tube (Balloon Body) to expand the tube into a cylindrical form. With this method, relatively large bearing power is achieved even if in soft ground, something difficult with friction anchors.
A tension member (made of unbonded PC steel stranded wires) is bent and attached to the outside of the steel tube to be expanded into a cylindrical form. The rest of the procedure is the same as for a remaining anchor.
PC steel stranded wires covered with epoxy resin are used as the tensioning member.
