Ground Anchor

What is Ground Anchor?

ground anchor pic

A ground anchor is a method that stabilizes a structure near the ground surface by connecting it with a high-strength tensile material to an anchor created in the ground using grouting.

Advantage of ground anchor

  • Applies to a wide range of ground conditions
  • Can hold large slip surface compared to retaining walls or piles
  • Can achieve a rational and cost-effective foundation structure, compared to the pile foundations and other ground improvement that needs large scale ground improvement.
  • Does not cause any inconvenience for other construction when used as retaining wall, unlike struts

Our ground anchoring technique

BB Anchor®

A short anchor with large bearing power even in soft ground

Feature

  • The bearing anchor features an anchor body expanded into a cylindrical form, achieving large bearing force even with soft ground.
  • The fixing length is 1/3 and free length is 1/3 to 1/5 compared to conventional friction anchors. This prevents anchor from disturbing the existing building’s boundary.
  • The steel tube of the anchor can be hammered directly. Installation and injection can be performed separately to reduce construction periods.
  • Grout is injected into the steel tube, eliminating the risk of collapse of bored hole walls and creating a sound anchor body.

Procedure

Temporary anchor type:
Temporary anchor is used when the anchor need to be removed for the next construction to be executed after the anchoring works (i.e. drilling works, shield excavation) to avoid the tendon to tangled up during drilling.

Temporary anchor type

Permanent anchor type:
Permanent anchor is used when the anchor is necessary for long term or do not require to be removed because it will not interfere with other construction works.

High water pressure resistant anchor

An anchor structure with special water cutoff packer, flooding prevention tools, and composite bit, which withstands high water pressure.
PUSH

Feature

  • Prevents the ejection of soil and prevents the collapse of the back of retaining walls during installation.
  • Ensures the filling material is not washed away by water pressure.
  • Allows for secure construction of anchor installation positions even under a water pressure of 0.2 MPa.
  • Enables to be installed in gravel layers due to the use of high strength and highly sealed bit for drilling.

Our Specialty

  • We have developed large diameter drilling bit with water stopper for BB anchor so it can be also applied under water pressure
  • All BB anchor always go through pressure test to ensure its quality before being sent to the site.
  • The high-water pressure resistance anchor has a simplified water stopper, making it easy for first-time users to operate.
  • The technology used in high water pressure resistance anchor can be applied to other methods as well (e.g. excavation under high water pressure)
