In preparation for a major earthquake, there is a growing demand for seismic retrofitting of existing structures in urban areas, and Tokyo is undergoing route strengthening in preparation for the Olympics.

Among them, the reinforcement of monorail bridge piers’ foundations had limited options of reinforcement method because of the site’s small space and overhead restrictions. JETCRETE, our jet grouting method that can fit the site restrictions was adopted, also as a seismic reinforcement design that creates a composite structure similar to a caisson foundation by placing reinforced concrete within the steel shell in the underwater section..
