building of the Tokyo Station

Diaphragm Wall/Cast-Place-in Pile

Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building is a significant cultural property in Japan. In order to preserve its exterior appearance, a large-scale seismic isolation retrofit was carried out, considering the possibility of a major earthquake. We constructed the retaining walls around the Marunouchi Building and installing foundation piles to replace the existing pine wood piles that have been supporting the station.
