Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building is a significant cultural property in Japan. In order to preserve its exterior appearance, a large-scale seismic isolation retrofit was carried out, considering the possibility of a major earthquake. We were responsible for constructing the retaining walls around the Marunouchi Building and installing foundation piles to replace the existing pine wood piles that have been supporting the station building. |
